An Ingenious Comedy of Courtship and Chaos. Katherine Kelly plays Kate Hardcastle, with Steve Pemberton and Sophie Thompson as her parents, in one of the great comedies of the English language. Hardcastle looks forward to acquainting his daughter with Marlow with a view to marriage. But thanks to Lumpkin, he’s mistaken by his prospective son in-law for an innkeeper, his daughter for the local barmaid. The good news is, while Marlow can barely speak to a woman of quality he’s a charmer with those of a different stamp. And so, misdemeanours multiply, love blossoms, mayhem ensues. Entertaining talks and demonstrations by popular experts are a hands-on opportunity to learn about different crafts and features. There will also be a beautiful spring garden ensuring that there’s plenty to do, plenty to see and plenty to enjoy.
